Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behavioural Analyst to work within the Neurodevelopmental Sub-Team at Westminster CAMHS, on a substantive basis for 3 days.

It is essential that one of the working days is Thursday as this is when the NDT team meeting occurs.

The ND team is a large multi-disciplinary team that provides mental health services to children with neurodevelopmental needs and learning disabilities.

The post-holder will provide generic assessment and treatment of young people referred to Westminster CAMHS, and will assist with the management of disruptive behaviour and emotional distress in children with learning disabilities and/or autism.

The post holder will regularly carry out diagnostic assessments - including ADOS and 3Di/ADi. They will be part of a multidisciplinary CAMHS team enabling case discussion, joint assessments if required and referral to other team members for particular assessments e.g. psychometrics or treatments e.g. family therapy.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

The role involves conducting initial assessments with children and young people up to the age of 18, and specialist ASD assessments. There is a significant element of case management, engagement and liaising with other professionals in the borough, including schools and social care.

The Behaviour Analyst designs, implements and reviews behaviour plans, in partnership with the family and child/young person. They will work in partnership with parents, providing 1:1 sessions to support parental engagement with the strategies designed.

The post-holder will work closely with other agencies including Special Education, the Local Authority, and schools to provide assessments and interventions in the clinic as well as in home and school settings where appropriate and consult as necessary. They will champion and co-lead our SEND and EHC requirements.
