We have a Health and Justice Services Directorate, within which sits the 'Children and Young People' Service line working in partnership with 'Youth Custody Service' colleagues to provide trauma-informed primary care, mental health, neuro-developmental and substance misuse services to the young people and young adults within our care.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Psychosocial Worker - to join our Integrated Healthcare Service at HMPYOI Feltham. Feltham is effectively two separate establishments delivering healthcare services to young people in Feltham A (15-19 years) and young adults in Feltham B (18-25 years). These two cohorts have slightly different needs and we are looking for staff that understand this and work in line with 'Child First' principles. By joining our team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of the young people we care for, but also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being for this population.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will use their specialist knowledge and skills to undertake assessment, provide psychosocial support and care-planning of individuals under the care of the HWBT, whilst implementing and evaluating treatment of clients. The post holder will hold a caseload of clients under the supervision of a Senior Psycho social Practitioner.
The post harder will work as a member of the Wellbeing team, which provides a range of specialist services to substance users and those with psychological and mental health needs, including harm minimisation approaches, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning, health education and detoxification support, mindfulness and groupwork, supporting with the administration of controlled medication
The post holder will manage the transfer of individuals between prisons and into the community.
