An exciting opportunity has arose for a full time, dynamic, patient focused, Ward Manager, for our general surgical ward, which specialises in a wide range of elective and non-elective surgical procedures.
We are seeking a caring, compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse for the Position of Ward Manager for Ward 33 at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
Main duties of the job
As a ward leader you willdevelop andlead the Ward 33 team, who take pride in their work and the challenges faced.You will contribute to developing new innovative ways to improve patient care and take the ward forward to flourish.
We are seeking a caring, compassionate experienced Registered Nurse who candemonstrateexcellent leadership skills, can delegate effectively, and work effectively and efficiently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be reliable, flexible, motivated, have excellent clinical and managerial skills, a commitment to ongoing learning and development, a commitment to delivering high quality care and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation, meeting the demands of the community we serve.
The post holder will be expected to workpredominately Mondayto Friday in an 80-20% supervisory capacity. They will have 24-hour responsibility with support of a dedicated ward team.The Matron will work closely with the successful candidate providing development and support.

Weoperatefrom three main hospitals - Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), FurnessGeneral Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well asa number ofcommunity healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGHprovidesa range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threateningconditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitalsprovidea range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, communityhospitalsand our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve theirhealthand manage their conditions through high quality care,adviceand support.
