Job summary
As part of the People Services offer to the Trust, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, Medical Workforce function at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay. The Medical Workforce Operations Manager will report to the Associate Director - Strategic Medical Workforce and provide direct line management and leadership to the Medical Workforce Team (Medical Recruitment, E-Systems, Medical HR, Rota Co-ordination).
You will work across the Trust, liaising with Divisions / Directorates and medical staff at all levels, to ensure that the Medical Workforce function is operationally efficient to deliver an effective service across the organisation. You will assist with strategic planning and delivery of medical workforce changes, provide a key source of expert knowledge and understanding of national medical workforce agendas, including Medical & Dental Terms & Conditions of Service, job planning, rota design and medical workforce transformation.
Supporting the Associate Director - Strategic Medical Workforce, you will take a lead role on the interpretation and local application of national policy / legislation, developing and implementing appropriate Trust policies, systems, and processes as they apply to the medical workforce.

About us
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes ,community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent , improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care , advice and support.
