An exciting vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivatedPaediatric Dietitianto join our team of dietitians within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.Barrow in Furness is on the South Cumbrian coast within easy reach of the Lake District National Park and offers a wide variety of leisure activities for a positive work life balance.
The successful applicant will work alongsidean experiencedmulti-disciplinaryteam ofPaediatricians, Nurses,DietitiansandTherapistswhoare responsible forproviding a service across social and health care boundaries.
Main duties of the job
The post will cover both inpatient and outpatient work and you will gain experience in a wide range of clinical areas including nutrition support, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problems.
The department is approved for training student dietitians. You will also provide support to junior and support staff within the wider Dietetic team.You will use your knowledge and skills tosupport the learning and development of MDT colleaguesand contribute towards updating protocols and resources. About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
