Job summary
We are looking for a clinically orientated, enthusiastic, highly motivated and adaptable Pharmacist to join our team. We have the opportunity for a permanent part time band 8a specialist homecare pharmacist position available at our Royal Lancaster Infirmary site, located within minutes from the city centre.
The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical input to the neurology homecare service and give leadership to the technical team providing the day to day running of the homecare service.
Main duties of the job
To ensure the safe and appropriate prescribing of homecare medications including ensuring that appropriate funding is in place. To ensure appropriate service level agreements are in place and that prescriptions are managed appropriately so that patients have the right treatment at the right time.
To lead on the implementation of any new medications or biosimilar and generic switches as appropriate.
About us
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
