Due to the fixed term nature of this role any rotationary element would take place within the inpatient service at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Working as a Band 5 Physiotherapist you will have the opportunity work across a variety of clinical areas across inpatients and outpatients. These areas include orthopaedics, medicine, elderly rehab, Surgery. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills with support from experienced Specialist and Advanced Physiotherapists. As experience is gained you will work to support our on-call and weekend service at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, this is on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
This is a clinical, patient facing role where you will be involved in providing clinical input for a caseload of patients, supporting discharge and patient flow as part of the MDT.
We work as a multi-disciplinary team and you will have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement, helping to develop and improve our pathways of care for our patients.
As a Trust we actively support you to develop your knowledge and skills via our Annual Development Review programme and you will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced Specialist and Advanced Physiotherapists. We offer a clinical and managerial in-service training programme and Band 5 Physiotherapy Peer Support group who meet monthly.
We have an expansive student programme and there will be opportunities to contribute to the clinical education of students within our team.
You will also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills working with, training and delegating to our technical instructor staff.
We welcome applications from newly qualified physiotherapists who are still awaiting HCPC.
Due to the nature of the interview structure, attendance at the assessment centre in person will be required. There will not be a remote option.

About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
