We are delighted to advertise a permanent contract position for a Matron for Neonatal Service at UHMBT. an exciting opportunity for dynamic and experienced Neonatal Nurse to be appointed into a senior leadership role, which will support the our Heads of Midwifery and Director of Midwifery to drive high standards of quality care and patient experience within the Maternity and Neonatal portfolio
As part of the senior nursing and midwifery team you will have the opportunity to shape services to ensure they are responsive and patient focused.
There is an expectation that you will not only demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and high standards, but present skills that will enthuse, innovate, support and challenge our team to achieve an exceptional service for families. The role will support the Neonatal service across UHMBT
Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate you will:
- Provide visible leadership and clear direction to the staff for which they are accountable ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality care aligned with organisational strategic vision.
- Accountable for the both the standard of Neonatal care and clinical environment within identified areas of responsibility. The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical teams to maintain high- standards of care, infection prevention and control practices and ensure patients' privacy and dignity always maintained.
- Providing effective line management of Ward/Unit Managers within the area for which you are responsible is fundamental in order to support a culture of consciousness to deliver financial balance and achievement of efficiencies.
- Support the delivery of targets and key performance indicators to improve access to Neonatal services whilst improving the quality of patient care.
- Participate in the relevant senior manager on-call rota.
- Deputises for the Head of Midwifery when required on aspects of neonatal care within UHMBT and the Lancashire and South Cumbria Neonatal Network
