This role will ensure the delivery of high quality care across the Trust and demonstrate highly developed leadership, managerial and business skills. Acting as a change agent, ensuring that services are modernised, and targets achieved through the delivery of Trust strategic priorities.

Main duties of the job

As the Chief Allied Health Professional (AHP), the post holder will be a key member of the Chief Nurse team and provide strategic and professional leadership for all Allied Health Professionals (AHP's) and the services they deliver across the Trust, acting as a point of contact and / or advice and expertise on professional issues relating to AHPs.

The post will play a pivotal role in transforming services to ensure provision of high quality, safe and innovative clinical services across all areas in line with corporate development plans.

Provide professional leadership at a strategic level within the organisation and work in a highly collaborative way resulting in significant organisational efficiencies and the bringing together of professions at all levels including links with regional and national professional bodies, influencing national policy , responding to national professional issues, implementing and firmly embedding new professional development initiatives relevant to individual professions and to the collective staff group as a whole.

About us

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
