Job summary
We are expanding and recruiting to a number of vacancies for the South lakes Out of Hours District Nursing Service. The team are a stable and experienced team who are passionate about what they do in the community.
We are looking recruit to the night shift within the South Lakes Out of Hours Service, these hours are 22:30hrs - 08:00hrs for experienced and non-experienced band 2 Clinical Support Workers to join our existing team. We are keen to hear from you if you are committed in providing excellent care for patients in the South Lakes locality. Please specify on your application form what hours you would be willing to work. Note - A variety of hours will be considered.
You will be comprehensively inducted by existing staff and receive training in the core elements of what the service provides these are end of life care, catheter care and dressings.
The team covers a large geographical area including Greenodd - Langdale- Coniston - Grasmere - Silverdale - Hest- bank - dent-Sedbergh and Hornby.
The team has usage of an NHS lease car so you won't need to use your own vehicle for this post. Parking at Westmorland general hospital is free for staff that work the night shift so you won't need a permit to park on-site.
Working overnights is a great option for flexible working arrangements for employees with children or other caring responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
The main role of the Clinical Support Worker will include providing basic nursing care to our in-patients, assist patients with all activities of daily living, to act in emergency situations and to support the qualified nursing staff to deliver a high standard of care to all our patients.
The successful candidates will become employees of Morecambe Bay NHS foundation Trust and will work within the realms of their policies and procedures.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
