As a combined Acute and Community Trust, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) is enjoying greater integration working with colleagues across different sectors within the footprint of Morecambe Bay.

Not only does this provide improved ways of working within the multi-disciplinary context, it enables you to be involved in the exciting journey ahead for providing transformational care within Morecambe Bay.

We are a multi-disciplinary team who would welcome you to join us.

Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Integrated Community Stroke Team (ICST) based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. This is rotational between the Inpatient team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and the Community covering Lancaster and South Lakes. This allows colleagues to be a part of the whole process from admission to discharge with ongoing rehabilitation in the community. Working in the community allows opportunity for agile working.

We provide a 6 day service including Saturdays for the inpatient pathway and 5 day service in the community pathway with the aim of 7 day working in the future.

We offer a supportive induction plan and a stroke specific inhouse CPD programme alongside opportunity to engage in NROL and support work within the ISNDN.

Our aim is to ensure all our patients have access to appropriate treatment in the right location. Our approach to stroke services will require a degree of flexibility as well as creative thinking to establish and form new pathways of care.
