Clinical Support Worker - Emergency Department

Job summary

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to work in a ward environment.

You will work in support of and under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, providing nursing care and assistance to Orthopaedic patients.

Main duties of the job

The main role of the Clinical Support Worker will include providing fundamental nursing care to our in-patients, assist patients with all activities of daily living, and to support the qualified nursing staff to deliver a high standard of care to all our patients.

You will be involved in:

• Direct patient care -this includes all activities of daily living, including assisting with washing, dressing and hygiene needs.
• Assisting patients with meals, and completion of food charts and fluid intake charts.
• Working as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality patient care.
• Assisting nursing staff with all tasks required within the department to support the delivery of high quality patient focused care.
• Helping to ensure the ward is a clean, safe, tidy and comfortable environment.
• Accurate completion of documentation regarding patient care.
• The use of computers.

The applicant would need to be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and be committed to personal development.
