Job summary

The Research and Development Department attheRoyal Lancaster Infirmaryare looking for a highly motivated person to join their Administration team.

This role is to assist the clinical research team with all aspects of clinical trials administration, according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies.

The post holder will assist the Clinical Trials Coordinator and the wider Clinical Research Teams in daily trials activity according to the specific requirements of their assigned team(s).

We are looking for an individual who would be able to work within a team but is able to work independently when required, and support our research team.

Main duties of the job

Main duties are to work as part of the Research admin team, the post holder will assist with the administration of clinical trials from feasibility to archiving, assist with the general administration associated with set up of clinical trials. Populating activity logs to enable invoices to be raised. Assist with the processing of amendments. General trial-related communication in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

About us

We operate from three main hospitals -The Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI),Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal.

RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

  • Experience of administrative role and regularly using IT Experience of data management and of using databases
  • Good written communication skills. Communicate confidently with all professional levels using the telephone, email and written forms Ability to record and retrieve accurate data in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Accuracy and attention to detail. Good understanding and demonstrated use of Microsoft including Word and Excel Good organisational skills. Good interpersonal skills. .
