Job summary
Furness General Hospital are looking for a Speciality Doctor in Paediatrics to join our team at the Middle-Grade Level.
The post is based in the Paediatric Department at Furness General Hospital and you will be part of a team delivering day to day care of patients on the Children's Ward and Level 1 Special Care Baby Unit.
You will be required to participate in the 1:7 resident on-call rota which includes night duties, day shifts and weekends.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a member of a team of middle gradedoctors working a full shift system. The clinical duties of the postinclude the following:
o Day to day care of patients on the Children's Unit and SpecialCare Baby Unit as well as covering the Central Delivery Suite andpost-natal Ward.o Maintenance of patient's records and generation of timelyDischarge Summarieso Participation in Consultant-led ward rounds undertaken by thePaediatric Teamo Emergency care of patients in the paediatric assessment unit andthe emergency department
You will be encouraged to actively participate in audit / research /training within the team.
You will be encouraged to contribute to the teaching programme ofthe junior doctors and will help to protect their teaching time duringallocated teaching sessions.
