Job summary
This post is to cover general paediatrics however applications from general paediatricians with a specialist interest in epilepsy would be encouraged to apply or any other special interests and would be considered according to the needs of the department.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in paediatrics.
The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and be on the specialist register for paediatrics or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Full GMC registration
- MRCPCH or equivalent
- The applicant must produce evidence that he / she is either on the oUK Specialist Register or within 6 months of specialist registration date, and is expected to achieve specialist registration
- APLS or EPLS provider
Desirable
- A higher qualification
- Management course for clinicians
- Relevant CCT or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- General paediatric experience in both secondary and tertiary care
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff
- Evidence of clinical skills to fulfill the general elements of this job
Desirable
- Experience in managing paediatric epilepsy or another special interest that will complement the needs of the department
- Experience in managing paediatric patients in MDT setting
- Experience in team working outside of work
- 6/12 Experience in PICU during training
- Teaching Experience
