Job summary

Here at South Tees Trust we have a fantastic opportunity for a combined role band 7 Nurse Injector / Eye casualty Nurse to join our team in our Ophthalmology Casualty and Retinal Therapy Unit.

There maybe an opportunity considered to join initially as a band 6 and develop into a band 7 role if you can demonstrate the correct skill set.

You will need to have a keen understanding and experience in the Ophthalmology setting particularly in Eye Casualty and Retinal Therapy.

Working in the Eye Casualty you will deliver high safe standards of clinical care for patients, using advanced knowledge and skills to develop and promote evidenced based practice, working in a department with an unpredictable workload.

Utilising clinical judgement and decision making undertaking a history and assessment of patients within the eye casualty - making a diagnosis, plan of treatment and care then managing the referral and transfer of discharge of the patient. Demonstrating capability in practice while adapting and sometimes challenging situations.

Within the Medical Retina Unit, the postholder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients with conditions requiring intra -vitreal and Anti -VEGF injections. We are seeking a compassionate and caring nurse who will work closely with the senior team to deliver outstanding care
