Job summary

Location - The James Cook University Hospital and various satellite clinics

Speciality - Trauma Outpatients, Trauma and Orthopaedics, CSU3

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse who demonstrates the ability to lead and motivate staff, ensure a great patient experience and can deputise for the Department Manager.

Main duties of the job

You will be a team player with good communication and organisational skills along with clinical management experience. You will have a positive can do attitude and always strive for the best for your patients and wider working team.

You will have the ability to engage clinically with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to sensitively manage change.

The post holder will be expected to have responsibility for the department in the absence of the department manager. You will provide professional and compassionate clinical leadership, advice, and guidance for the team. Supporting the manager, your remit will be developing the department working cohesively with the wider MDT whilst maintaining department KPIs and outcomes. You will be involved and supported with developing your leadership with the team in Trauma Outpatients.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
