Job summary

Ward Clerk - 37.5 Hours per week

  • To provide a high-quality efficient administration and clerical service to Unit staff, visitors and patients.
  • To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.
  • To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
  • To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the provision of high standard care by providing a high quality efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients.
  • Acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals facilitating effective communication.
  • To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System.
  • To work in a collaborative and co-operative manner and to recognise and respect their particular contribution within the care team.
