Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head of Nursing at University Hospitals Tees within the Neurosciences Clinical service Unit
A post has arisen within Neurosciences CSU (CSU 9) - The Deputy head of nursing will be part of the leadership team and will be an integral role within the CSU, supporting the direction of the CSU in partnership with the head of nursing, service director head of operations, bringing clinical expertise and positive leadership approach.
They will work with the service group senior members within the collaborative to prepare for CQC inspection. And support the triumvirate team approach aligned with supporting the wider senior multi-professional team comprising of a clinical director, management support and clinical matron for each of the service groups.
As a key professional leader the deputy head of nursing will provide operational direction to all nurses within the collaborative, be responsible for providing the fundamentals of care to a high standard, support leading on nutrition and hydration for all patients, be accountable for safe staffing and ensure robust risk management and governance arrangements are in place.
The post holder will be an integral part of the trust's senior nursing team and voice working with other deputy heads of nursing, heads of nursing, associate directors of nursing, deputy chief nurses and director of nursing.
Main duties of the job
As a key professional leader the Deputy Head of Nursing will provide strategic and operational support to all nurses within the collaborative, be responsible for providing high quality patient focused care, ensuring robust risk management and governance arrangements are in place. The post holder will be an integral part of the Trust senior nursing team working with other Deputy Heads of Nursing, Heads of Nursing/Associate Directors of Nursing, Deputy Directors of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer.
