Job summary

Applicants are invited to apply for a full time ward clerk post on Ainderby ward, within the Friarage Hospital. This is a medical ward with an interest in Respiratory.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, confident person who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, havegood organisational skills and the ability to work usingtheir own initiative.

Main duties of the job

We require a friendly and approachable person with a professional manner, who able to work well under pressure. Telephone and computer skills are a requirement and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, flexibility will be required as part of the role.

Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, we are looking for someone who is a good team player. The role will involve direct contact with patients, relatives and other members of the public.

The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their workload to fit around the busy ward environment. Reception duties are a large part of the role as well as handling public enquiries. Previous experience of working in a similar role in an NHS setting would be an advantage however full training will be given.
