The South Tees Critical Care directorate has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Critical Care nurse that has had significant experience working in Critical Care. The candidate must have a visible track record of advancing practice through education and learning and be committed to an ongoing career in Critical Care.
The successful candidate will be employed by the Critical Care Directorate at The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), Middlesbrough. The JCUH facility is a Regional Major Trauma Centre and currently offers opportunities in many specialities, including renal, neuroscience, trauma, respiratory medicine and surgery.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team supporting the Senior Clinical Educator to lead on the implementation of education, personal development plans, induction to critical care, mentoring and preceptorship and the on-going professional development for critical care staff in the directorate. The post holder will assist in the delivery of robust programmes of education, and participate in audit to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programmes and respond proactively to changes required accordingly. The clinical educator will act as a credible and professional role model, empowering staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential with the end outcome of enhancing the care delivered to critically ill patients.
The clinical educator in conjunction with the Clinical Matron and Ward Managers and will participate in innovation and evidence based nursing practice through professional leadership as well as supporting the clinical team.
There are many nurse led and team initiatives driven by enthusiastic, competent and skilled multi-professional practitioners all sharing a common goal of commitment to improving patient care delivery for the critically ill patient.
