Band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner - Acute Oncology and Haematology
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join the acute Oncology and Haematology therapy Team. The integrated therapy team provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy to the acute Oncology and Haematology wards within James Cook University Hospital.
This post would suit an experienced band 2 or 3 assistant looking to progress to band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner.
The acute Oncology and Haematology therapy team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioner and Therapy Assistant.
Main duties of the job
- To undertake highly skilled work, support the physiotherapists in providing an effective and efficient physiotherapy service within the framework of clinical governance.
- To work under supervision and independently in order to facilitate effective treatment of patients within the service.
- To carry out basic assessments of non-complex patients as delegated by the physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
- To accept patients delegated by a therapist and be responsible for the delivery of patient care. To use clinical judgement and freedom, within the scope of practice and be able to work independently and flexibly without direct supervision but to receive access to regular supervision from a Registered physiotherapist.
