An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Chronic Pain Service as a Locum Consultant for 2 years.
The role will be based out of James Cook University Hospital with travel to satellite sites.

Main duties of the job
The job offers a 10 PA contract, which comprises of 8 direct clinical care (DCC) and can include up to a maximum of 2 supporting programme activities (SPA). If the confirmed job plan comes to the maximum 2 SPAs, then one of the SPA sessions can be taken off site. Extra DDC PAs may be available following consultation with the Clinical Director, depending on departmental and personal requirements.

Essential
- GMC registration
- FRCA and FFPMRCA or equivalent
- Relevant CCT or those on the specialist register through CESR or European Community Rights or equivalent ('equivalence' must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC)
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable
- MD or PhD
- Training in appraisal techniques
- Management training
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Essential
- oBroader knowledge of other acute postoperative and chronic pain conditions and therapies.
- oWilling to develop to play a lead role in the future of the pain service.

- Substantive experience of adult pain medicine.
