Job summary

Up to 37.5 Hours per week

Clinical support workers (CSW) play a vital role in providing excellent care to patients across all NHS care settings. They can help patients with social and physical activities, personal care, mobility, mealtimes, booking appointments etc.

CSWs can work in hospitals, GP practices, people's own homes or in the community; roles can vary depending on the environment in which they work.

They can work with many different patient groups, of all ages, including those receiving acute care, people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health conditions, and in maternity services.

The CSW role can also lead to a range of career opportunities. With the right support, those who exemplify the skills and core values essential to delivering high-quality, compassionate care could, and can, go on to become our future nurses, nursing associates and midwives.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication and basic IT skills and you must be able to work on your own under appropriate supervision. You will also be required to complete the care certificate within 6 months probationary period.

Please note if you are based in the Community, you must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.

Main duties of the job

This innovative support team will be deployed to support all sites and departments to support with the highest level of patient care. You will provide a range of nursing skills to meet the needs of our patients in a safe and caring environment that promotes dignity, privacy and respect. This post will offer you valuable experience and excellent opportunities to develop a career in care.

The opportunities to progress are endless; you can choose to specialise in a particular setting, or train to qualify as a healthcare professional, such as a nurse or associate practitioner.

Applicants will be required to contribute to on-going development and improvements within the service.

We will require the successful candidate to work days, night's weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

This training programme has been designed to support our staff in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. After you complete these one and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team
