Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team at The James Cook University Hospital. The post holder will be working as a Senior Physiotherapist on the acute Trauma and Orthopaedics wards and within the Orthopaedic Discharge team.

The post holder will be recruited for a period of up to 12 months.

The Physiotherapy Service is a well-established large, progressive and dynamic service, which continues to develop within the Trust. The Orthopaedic team is friendly, supportive and encourages development of staff.

Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.

Main duties of the job

It is desirable for the post holder to have experience in the physiotherapy assessment and management of patients with a range of orthopaedic conditions and have gained experience in a community or domiciliary setting.

The ability to travel independently is an essential part of this post as you will work across Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland community providing a service within patients own homes and Residential Homes.

The post holder will be supported by the Senior Specialist Physiotherapists and the Therapy Service Lead.

This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an opportunity to actively participate in audit and research and the Hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University.
