Senior Physiotherapist

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our Older Persons Medicine (OPM) Therapy Team on The Zetland Ward at Redcar Primary Care Hospital. The post holder will be employed as a Senior Physiotherapist working collaboratively with Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Generic Assistants.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the country, close to the North Yorkshire Moors and within easy reach of Newcastle and Leeds. It comprises two acute hospitals, James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton and a number of community hospitals including Redcar Primary Care Hospital which has a rehabilitation Unit. James Cook University Hospital is a major trauma centre and provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, including the physiotherapy assessment, treatment plans and management of patients, patient flow and facilitating discharges. Additionally experience working with OPM will be required. Along with experience of supervising and day to day leadership of junior staffing required.

The Therapy Services is a well established large, progressive and dynamic service, which continue to develop within the wider trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from senior clinicians and the AHP Service Leads.

This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research as the hospital has close links with the local universities.
