Job summary
We now have a new Dermatology Department at James Cook and our Specialist Skin Service at One Life. You will be required to work across both sites where you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge within this speciality. Dermatology experience is not necessary as you will receive training once in the role. Scrub nurse is desirable but training can also be given
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wanting to enhance their knowledge and skills and be part of a team who strive to provide clinical excellence to patients with skin conditions.
To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team by using professional judgement and assuming responsibility and accountability for assessing, implementing and evaluating clinical care for patients with a variety of skin conditions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the management and organisation of nursing work in the department within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
The post holder will supervise the working of health care assistants and support workers and support the training and assessment of student nurses.
Demonstrates the trust Values and Behaviour's for nursing and midwifery staff at all times.
The post holder has a duty of care to patients and is expected to comply fully with best practice standards and comply with trust policies for personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections.
