31.5 Hours per week

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Phlebotomist who will support the Community Nursing teams in the Eston locality, but will also be part of the larger Tees teams, within the Community Care Centre.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of care to patients within their own homes, as part of the integrated community nursing service the post holder will contribute to the admission avoidance agenda by providing high quality care to patients.

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out designated work, much of which will involve direct patient care. This care will be delegated by trained staff and the post-holder will be expected to work under the indirect supervision of trained staff. The post holder will work in a person-centred way to achieve clear outcomes and adhere to trust and team objectives.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across 7 days a week, ensuring the 8am-8pm service is covered, to meet the changing needs of the service, which may include working across the Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Hambleton and Richmondshire area.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and be able to work on their own and as part of the team.

  • NVQ 2 or other equivalent qualification in health-related subject or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Venepuncture training

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrates an ability to learn, to be able to pass the phlebotomy competency assessment
  • Experience of working with minimal supervision, and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience in providing an effective customer service and dealing directly with members of the public.
  • Evidence utilised venepuncture skill since training

Desirable

  • Having worked in a health care related role.
