Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team, where our purpose is to deliver high quality, safe healthcare for Redcar, East Cleveland and Guisborough Primary Care Hospitals.
The successful candidate will have a sound general education, good communication skills and a mature and professional approach.
They will have basic IT skills and experience of emails, possess good organisational/time management skills, have the ability to use their own initiative, working autonomously or part of a team and be flexible in their approach to work .
To assist in the provision of a high quality, courteous service to the patients, wards and departments of the Hospital.
To liaise with nursing, medical, reception/admin and clerical staff within the wards and departments in order to provide a seamless service, maintaining good and effective working relationships throughout the Trust
Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of the team and will facilitate the delivery of the teams objectives:
- Collection/disposal of waste including -general/clinical/sharps
- Timely collection of specimens from wards
- Delivery of clean/dirty laundry
- Medical gas cylinder monitoring/replacement
- To be responsible for the transport of patients and hospital equipment
- Securely unlock and lock 2 buildings (Langbaurgh House and Guisborough)
- Ensure that work to Trust policies and procedures including health and safety standards and practices.
