37.5 Hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Matron to join our James Cook Cancer Institute and Specialist Medicine collaborative. The role involves close working with the consultant and specialist nurse / advanced practitioner teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of progressive, transformational leadership, to drive a culture of quality care to improve outcomes and experience for patients who use our services.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be somebody who encompasses our Trust Values and will work with staff, to ensure that our services are safe and effective.

You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; you should be able to demonstrate your experience of developing a culture of high performance and excellence.

You will be responsible for ensuring effective, day to day management of nursing in your area, to achieve safe staffing levels, deliver key quality, performance and financial plans and achieve service improvements. You will also be expected to participate in supporting the wider operational and strategic management of the Trust. Leadership experience in this specialty would be advantageous but is not essential.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
