Job summary
The Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to the role of Finance Apprentice within the Financial Management team. The role will provide the necessary support to the Senior Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant to ensure the provision of a high quality financial advice and business support service to the Clinical Support Centre.
Key responsibilities include collating and processing month end procedures; analysis and reconciliation of income and expenditure; assisting the wider team in resolving queries and improving processes.The successful candidate must possess good organisational, time management and communication skills, as well as being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
The Finance Apprentice will be the given the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team and will be supported to complete the Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship.
Please note that this post will be applicable for hybrid working, however during the initial probation period, attendance on site will be expected.
The interview will include a 20 minute Excel assessment.
If you already hold a level 2 AAT or finance apprenticeship, you will undertake the Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship. People with a qualification in AAT at Level 3 or higher will not be eligible to apply for this apprenticeship.
Main duties of the job
As an apprentice you will be trained in the full range of our office procedures. You will enjoy using a computer, meeting with and helping others and have a desire to provide a high standard of customer service. You must be able to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines, have the ability to follow instructions and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be confident, have a mature and flexible approach, be a good time keeper and have the ability to work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties.
In return we will ensure that you receive all the training you need to be able to do this role fully and competently. You will be released for study and supported to achieve a framework of nationally recognised qualifications. You will receive 27 days annual leave and be entitled to a range of discounts on services and products from a number of retailers and organisations in the local area.
The minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSEs *A - C or level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Most apprenticeship programmes in the UK are government-funded. To qualify for this funding,you must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years before starting the apprenticeship. This means living in the UK for the majority of the past three years without significant absences.
