We are seeking a highly motivated, values driven professional with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, who will be able to lead and share our AHP workforce across our newly established group model. .
The ideal candidate will have hospital and community experience and a strong track record of improving patient care and patient experience.
The successful candidate will take on responsibility for the professional leadership of AHPs (Allied Health Professionals) and therapists across both North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Group Chief AHP is accountable for providing overall leadership to AHPs across the Group and for ensuring effective AHP input into the development of the Group strategy, policies and business planning.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for strategic and professional direction of AHP services across the Group. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Nurse (GCN), the post holder provides professional leadership and strategic direction for AHPs, developing and implementing standards across the Group which support professional development and leadership, competence, capacity and standards of conduct directly leading to high quality, efficient patient care.
The Group Chief AHP has responsibility and overall accountability for the development, succession planning and clinical supervision for all healthcare professionals.
The Group Chief AHP will raise the profile of AHP staff and will confidently advise the Group Chief Nurse, Executive Directors and the Board on all AHP and psychological therapy matters. As the senior professional leader, the Group Chief AHP will set the AHP strategy and lead business development activities.
As a strong communicator and change agent, the Group Chief AHP will be very present on the frontline and will demonstrate strong personal leadership and direction whilst at the same time building effective leadership and management teams at all levels to ensure organisational sustainability.
The post holder is expected to work with autonomy and establish ways of working within Trust and general health Policies. They will be responsible for the direction for the clinical portfolios within your remit. Ensuring goals and standards are set for each portfolio.
