Stoma Prescribing Co-Ordinator

Job summary

22.5 Hours / 30 Hours per week

You will be the main point of contact for patient requests for their stoma prescriptions and stoma products. You should be able to show patients empathy and be able to communicate with them sensitively, building trust and creating rapport whilst maintaining a professional manner, to enable them to have full confidence in the service. It is a fast paced environment and attention to detail is paramount.

The stoma prescribing coordinator team work closely together and also with the clinicians. We are a small, supportive and friendly team and areable to work flexibly around colleagues home work life balance.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated coordinator to support our Specialist Stoma Nursing Team in the receipt and preparation of repeat prescriptions for stoma products for patients. This service is for patients across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland to ensure that patients with a stoma receive the correct products for their clinical need.

This diverse and complex role will challenge you to use your organisational and prioritising skills, combined with top level attention to detail. Therole will involve problem solving on a day to day basis therefore working as a team to meet and manage these demands is paramount.

Previous experience of working with Systmone is essential and experience of working in a GP practice or a clinical environment is desirable dueto the clinical responsibilities relating to the role.

The post has evolved since it first started 3 years ago and now deals with along with prescriptions and duties outlined in the job description, otherduties include; booking clinic spaces through open space, booking appointments, e-procurement, triage patients for clinic appointments, andbeing supportive in sign-posting patients.
