Permanent post: 0.9wte / 33.75hrs per week (we will consider applications from candidates wishing to work from 30 hours upwards)

We have an exciting, new opportunity for a dynamic, inspirational and proactive dietitian with a passion for adult nutrition support to work in the South Tees community dietetic team as a Community Nutrition Support Clinical Lead dietitian.

Main duties of the job

This new role includes leading on the development of community based policies/pathways in nutrition support, having an active leadership role with enteral feed contracting processes, quality improvement and audit and some management of community dietetic staff. In addition, you will manage a complex clinical caseload of adult nutrition support patients providing expert advice to patients, carers, health care professionals and primary care and community staff.You will work closely with our Operational and Clinical Leads, contributing to the delivery of service improvement opportunities, and will also have a key leadership oversight within the community nutrition and hydration multi-disciplinary work streams.

Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of post registration clinical experience within adult nutrition support including enteral feeding, and preferably experience in the development and support of other dietetic and support staff members. Additionally, experience with clinical audit and service improvements would be highly beneficial within this role.

It is vital that you have the ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the health and social care economy.

This post involves travel and the post holder will work in a variety of settings including clinics, clients' own homes and other community healthcare settings.

About us

Our service covers The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton and the community localities of Hambleton and Richmond and Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland locality. The main office base for this post is in Guisborough. The community service uses Systmone, which facilitates mobile working. The clinical caseload will require a mix of face to face and virtual service provision.

The post will also involve education of students and other health care professionals and support workers. We have been trainers for student dietitians for a number of years, and also provide Dietetic Support Worker apprenticeships.Continual Professional Development is actively encouraged, as is participation in audit and quality improvement. We have access to excellent facilities within STRIVE, to support leadership, managerial and quality development opportunities.Guisborough is a small market town in Teesside surrounded by beautiful countryside, market towns and villages and within easy reach of the coast. It is served by good travel networks; is within easy reach of the A1M motorway; cities such as Newcastle, Durham, York and Leeds are very accessible via the East Coast main line train service. We are also close to three international airports - Teesside, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle.
