Maternity Nurse

1 x 30 hours fixed term 12 months, 1 x 36 hours fixed term 12 months, 1 x 36 hours fixed term 24 months

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and confident nurse to contribute to the delivery of a high quality early pregnancy, post-surgical and neonatal transitional care to patients having care at South Tees Foundation Trust.

South Tees Hospitals Maternity Services is a progressive, innovative service that facilitates over 5000 deliveries per year on two sites.

We are constantly striving to improve our services to women, babies and their families and the working environment for our staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide advice and clinical to care to women experiencing complications in early pregnancy. They will provide clinical post-surgical care for women in the EPAU and postnatal ward. They will support the neonatal team in providing neonatal transitional care on the postnatal ward. The post holder will work independently, assessing, planning and implementing evidence based care.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. It has 1,024 beds, a 24-hour acute admissions unit and an emergency department which houses the major trauma centre for Durham, East Cleveland, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and has its own helipad. In 2012 the Middlesbrough hospital completed a £35 million redevelopment of its cancer services and is now proud to provide some of the best facilities in Europe. The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
