OPERATIONAL LEAD SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY SERVICE

Band: 8a

Permanent contract

Minimum 30 hours/week - up to 37.5 hrs / week

Following review of the service structure we have an exciting career progression opportunity for an Operational Lead post to provide professional leadership and operational management support within the service, and particularly across the acute and specialist medical team structure.

The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of the operational performance of the Adult Speech and Language Service working alongside the service clinical leads, Head of Service, Acute Professions Lead, and other service leads as well as liaising with a range of staff across the Trust to ensure that high quality patient care is achieved and sustained.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for an independent clinical caseload (approximately 50 to 60% direct clinical care) using advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice within area of designated expertise.

The Operational Lead will be a member of the senior leadership team both within the service and across the AHP LeadershipTeam working with the Head of Service on operational and service development issues with specific responsibility for own area of responsibility.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience of developing services within a relevant specialist area of clinical expertise and with managing and supporting staff and students and contributing to leadership decision making on a frequent basis.

  • Educated to Masters Level (or be willing to work towards)
