SENIOR SPECIALIST DIETITIAN - Children and Young People's Service
Fixed term post: ending 31st March 2025 - up to 37.5 hours per week (we will consider applications from candidates wishing to work less hours)
Grade: AFC Band 6
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and proactive HCPC registered dietitian to join the Children and Young People's Service at South Tees which has been rated as one of the top performers in the 2020 Children and Young People's Survey by the CQC.
We have a fixed term post to cover a secondment available within The South Tees Nutrition and Dietetic service. This is an ideal opportunity for a proficient Band 5 ready for the next step in their career / Band 6 wishing to gain further experience in paediatrics. Support is available from the other members of the paediatric team.
Main duties of the job
This post is based mainly at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton and the Hambleton and Richmondshire community locality with some sessions at the James Cook University Hospital and the Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland community locality.
The post is varied and involves working with a variety of patient groups including allergy, enteral feeding, behavioural feeding difficulties, neonates, in patient eating disorders and diabetes
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to work collaboratively with other health care professionals. You should have excellent communication skills and above all you must be passionate about working within dietetics using drive and innovation to make positive changes.
Continued professional development is actively encouraged, as is participation in audit and evidence-based practice. We have access to excellent facilities within STRIVE, to support leadership, managerial and quality development opportunities. We provide training placements for student dietitians, as well as a newly appointed dietetic apprenticeship programme. The post-holder will also be responsible for the clinical supervision and development of junior staff and dietetic assistants.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
