An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced oncology nurse to join our gynaecology oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist team based at The James Cook University Hospital with some occasional cross site working to Friarage Hospital Northallerton.
The post holder has a distinct level of responsibility to patients with gynaecology tumours in providing a comprehensive specialist nursing service. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced, who enjoys patient contact and working in a multi-disciplinary environment to support the delivery of a quality service.
You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to work.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical excellence, leadership, innovation and facilitated learning, the post holder will have responsibility for leading and developing this speciality service to provide equitable care to patients presenting with all types of gynaecological cancer and act as a resource to carers, multi-disciplinary colleagues and the primary health care team.
The post holder will manage a caseload/client group, providing highly specialist expert nursing advice, information and support to patients with gynaecological cancer and their families at all stages of their disease and in particular whilst they are being cared for at South Tees NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust, thus ensuring a smooth transition of care from primary surgery through to radiotherapy/chemotherapy and into the community, to discharge or death, thereby establishing links between the acute and primary care group, supporting both patient and carers.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
