The Department of Reproductive Medicine at The James Cook University Hospital is seeking to recruit a highly motivated staff nurse with post registration experience.

We deliver up to 400 cycles of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) per year as well as a range of other assisted reproduction treatments. Our clinic is licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), our regulator. The role is multi-faceted - you will work in a self-contained clinic alongside embryology, administrative, clinical and counselling staff.

Main duties of the job

Your role is primarily to support our patients in all aspects of their assisted conception pathway from their initial contact through to their final treatment. You will undertake one-to-one clinic appointments to provide information and obtain legal consents prior to treatment and you will work within the IVF treatment suite, supporting the clinicians in all aspects of surgical oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer procedures.

This includes immediate post-operative recovery observations, administering medication and providing detailed discharge advice. Ideally you will have some relevant experience, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
