Main duties of the job

The South Tees Audiology Service team is based around Middlesbrough, Northallerton and the Yorkshire Dales and is proud to deliver high quality, innovative Audiology care. This includes an in house earmould laboratory, cochlear implantation, Audiologist-led balance clinics including vestibular rehabilitation, paediatrics/neonatal screening, Bone Conduction Hearing Devices, direct referral hearing aids and fast-track GP Audiology screening. Principle duties of this post include adult assessment and rehabilitation with both routine and complex adult caseloads.

The main purpose-built department is located in The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.

  • BSc Audiology or equivalent
  • oRegistered as one of the following, or in the process of registering: RCCP as a Clinical Physiologist, HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, HCPC as a Clinical Scientist, AHCS as a Healthcare Scientist

Desirable

  • British Sign language level 1 or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Good level of clinical and technical audiology knowledge in routine audiology, to include pure tone audiometry, tympanometry and hearing aid selection, fitting, troubleshooting and maintenance

Desirable

  • Experience of NHS Audiology Services
