Job summary
37.5 hours per week over 7 days, working 10 hour shifts Permanent Contract
An exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk has become available in a busy Critical Care Directorate which encompasses ICU2 & ICU3 and General Critical Care Unit, within James Cook University Hospital.
Critical Care is a very busy and interesting area in which to work, taking medical and surgical emergencies, it provides staff excellent experience and learning opportunities.
Main duties of the job
General enquiries
Wide range of clerical work including retrieval and preparation of patient case notes
Filing and maintaining patients notes
Being a first point of contact to the unit(s)
Liaise with medical, nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals
Answer all incoming calls
Recording patient admissions, discharges, transfers onto ECAMIS/Medicus
Using multiple electronic systems
Assisting in the process of patients satisfaction
Strong communication is required, dealing with sensitive and confidential information
To organise and prioritise own workload
Photocopying of notes.
