37.5 Hours per week (Permanent)
The Spinal Injuries Unit at The James Cook Hospital is a regional unit, providing specialist multidisciplinary spinal rehabilitation, to patients following spinal cord injury. The unit has a 24 bedded ward, and a 4 Bedded high dependency unit which has access to full rehabilitation services, supported by a specialist multidisciplinary team, on site. They also take elective admissions, for urology and skin management. The Spinal HDU is covered by the spinal medical team as well as ITU doctors.

Main duties of the job
You will provide exceptional nursing care; undertake staff appraisals, attendance management and clinical duties. You will work alongside the current HDU and Ward Sisters and support the Ward/HDU Manager to ensure we maintain the highest standards of care at all times.
You must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience required for this position. You will be proactive in the ward and HDU development, have a keen interest in the development of others, and be able to demonstrate on-going professional development and evidence-based practice. This post requires a positive approach towards change and the ability to engage, support, and motivate others. Communication, resilience and creativity are key.
