The Department of Reproductive Medicine at The James Cook University Hospital is seeking to recruit a highly-motivated Fertility Nursing Assistant.
We deliver up to 400 cycles of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) per year as well as a range of other assisted reproduction treatments. Our clinic is licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), our regulator.
Main duties of the job
This role is multi-faceted - you will work with three other Nursing Assistants supporting the clinical, embryology and administrative staff. You will be required to support the team with all aspects of care for patients on their assisted reproduction pathway.
We are looking for people with health care experience who are flexible, self-motivated and enthusiastic team players. You will also need to have empathy, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our diverse patient group. It is essential that you are sensitive to the emotional needs of our patients and can demonstrate knowledge of the key skills required in the nursing assistant role.

The James Cook University Hospital has a modern, central operating suite containing 20 well-equipped theatres and a 16-bedded intensive care unit. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community. It is one of the smallest district general hospitals in the country and has 189 inpatient beds.
