An excellent opportunity has arisen for an e-Referral Service Support Assistant to support the e-Referral Service Manager to assist with daily operational system management and system training of the e-Referral Service (Choose and Book).

The post holder will act as a first point of contact for any e-RS referral or appointment enquiries from internal and external GP practice staff. The post holder will also assist in reviewing and updating the Directory of Services; amending and creating new services as and when required under the leadership of the e-Referral Service Manager.

The following skills and knowledge are essential to the role:

  • Experience of using the e-Referral Service (Choose and Book) system
  • Experience of using CaMIS and e-CaMIS
  • Knowledge of the Trusts outpatient services and booking processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office packages

You will need to demonstrate previous experience of working with confidential information in particularly the Data Protection Act, showing attention to detail and maintaining accuracy at all times. Your ability to work using your own initiative is essential, whilst understanding the importance of adhering to Trust Policies and local procedures.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for granting new users access to the e-Referral Service and providing system training as and when required. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring workgroups are up to date and staff have access to the appropriate referrals. This role also involves data validation to ensure outpatient appointments have been processed correctly. Successful applicants may be expected to support outpatient booking teams with booking and cancelling appointments when required on an adhoc basis.

The role will include responsibilities for promoting the importance of best practice e-Referral Service processes and may require effective decision making.
