Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Rheumatology

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Rheumatology team. The successful candidate will have extensive Rheumatology experience, great communication skills and a desire to learn. The post holder will be practicing under supervision as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) within Rheumatology in order to provide patient-centered quality care. The role will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. The post holder will (under supervision of a senior clinician), assist in the safe assessment, treatment referral and discharge of patients in their designated directorate

Main duties of the job

  • Support and participate in board round duties, including assessment of patients and associated actions
  • Elicit a patient history appropriate to the clinical situation
  • Initiate and manage a clinical treatment plan
  • Provide accurate and effective clinical handovers
  • Undertake interventions within scope of practice
  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessment of a patients condition
  • Request and performance diagnostic tests (such as ultrasound and joint injections
