Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the scientific and technical team in Clinical Measurement at the South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with the desire and ability to improve patient care.

Main duties of the job

The clinical measurement team is involved with a variety of services throughout the Trust and plays a core part in the Trust's innovation pathway. This purpose of this role will be to support the Clinical Measurement Section in their innovation work and the quality assurance of specialist medical devices. This may include, but is not limited to, developing software and medical devices, programming microcontrollers, using engineering techniques to build prototypes and performing routine quality assurance testing. Specific tasks will be in line with the skills of the post holder and the needs of the service. We would expect the successful applicant to have knowledge and experience in at least one of the areas in the job description and additional training can be provided in-house where required.

Applicants should have a minimum of an HND/HNC in Computing or Engineering (Electronics or Mechanical).

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
