Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse who is looking for an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills within the specialist field of Diabetes.
This post will allow the successful candidate to advance their knowledge in diabetes care and the long-term health needs of patients. You will have a keen interest in diabetes and be able to demonstrate this. Although some experience in the field of diabetes nursing would be advantageous this is not essential.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a nurse to work predominantly within the hospital setting and as you will be assessing and advising on in-patient care, your communication skills will be excellent. You will provide education and support to patients and their families and will undertake nurse-led and multi-disciplinary clinics for Diabetes, endocrinology and weight management. You will also provide education and support to staff within the trust to improve the quality of Diabetes care.
You will be expected to work at any of the hospitals run by the trust and GP surgeries therefore the ability to travel is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the field of diabetes and make a difference to patient's experiences and improve the quality of diabetes care.
The applicants must be committed to providing an excellent standard of patient care, and also to their own professional development. He/she will have excellent communication skills and be supportive and open to new initiatives.
