Job summary
If you are a senior paediatric nurse who is passionate about enabling children and young people to be cared for as close to home as possible with care being delivered in the right place at the right time by a team with the right clinical skills then this is the job for you .
Working across the region you will be supporting education and training to nursing colleagues who provide level 0 and level 1 paediatric critical care and non complex paediatric surgery .
You will also be part of the National (PCC) and Surgery in Children (SIC) programme.
Main duties of the job
You will be working collaboratively with colleagues and organisations who are already involved in delivering PCC and SIC Training and Education such as NECTAR and colleagues based in the Trusts to develop a regional nursing PCC and SIC Training and Education strategy.
You will be expected to develop and deliver training packages and you will co ordinate training which may be delivered face to face or virtually via webinars .
You will also work closely with academic organisations within the region .
You will develop resources to support colleagues and ensure that these are accessible e.g. uploading information on to the Operational Delivery Network (ODN) website.
You will be part of the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) PCC and SIC core team which is based at James Cook University Hospital South Tees NHS Foundation Trust.
The core team includes a network Manager , a Lead Nurse, a Project Support Officer and Clinical Leadership is provided for PCC by 1 PA a week of paediatric intensivist and 1 PA a week of paediatric anaesthetist. Clinical leadership is provided for SIC by 2 PAS a week of paediatric surgeon . The team have a positive can do attitude and the manager encourages flexible working,

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
