This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy Team in the Acute Stroke service based on the new NASU (Neurology and Stroke unit) at James Cook University Hospital. The post holder will be employed as a Senior Physiotherapist and will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge and experience working in the stroke service. The role also involves working closely with specialists from other disciplines as part of an effective Multidisciplinary Team.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from Physiotherapists who have post graduate experience and study in neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapy and an interest and enthusiasm in this field, enabling them to develop specialist skills further in this area. There will be an expectation to work in the rota system to support 7 day working and support the community stroke services where required. The post holder will work on new NASU (Neurology and Stroke unit) primarily in the acute stroke servicebut may be required to manage patients with neurological conditions
The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from the Senior Specialist Physiotherapist and the AHP Service Lead . We have a comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through regular workshops and clinical supervision. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research.
As a Senior Physiotherapist you will be encouraged to develop your skills and to supervise assistants and more junior staff and be involved in the clinical education of students. This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills.
