3 YEAR DEGREE Apprenticeships: Gain a B.Sc Healthcare Science (MEDICAL PHYSICS TECHNOLOGY) Degree While Qualifying as a Healthcare Science Practitioner

We currently have a Level 6 Apprenticeship posts available within the Medical Physics Department.

The successful candidates will participate in a 3-year training programme specialising in Radiotherapy Engineering. Formal training will be provided, and apprentices will develop personal and professional skills whilst also developing skills and knowledge relating to the installation, maintenance, repair and management of Radiotherapy treatment machines. Successful completion of the apprenticeship will qualify candidates to apply for and progress their careers within Medical Physics and Engineering.

During the apprenticeship you will:

learn from qualified practitioners to deliver all technical aspects within your area, including their support with your university coursework.

contribute to service development projects.

As well as receiving a salary, university fees and accommodation, as well as travel expenses, will be paid.

Main duties of the job

You must meet the entry requirements for the B.Sc. program: A levels (typically 112 UCAS points with 40 in a relevant science), plus English and math's qualifications at Level 2. You must be available to start the University program in September 2023.

As a Radiotherapy Engineer Apprentice at James Cook University Hospital, you can expect to work on 'state of the art' treatment machines.

You will develop a broad range of skills which will prepare you for a successful career in your chosen area of Medical Physics Radiotherapy Engineering.

Alongside your practical training you will undertake a work-based Level 6 Apprenticeship training program specialising in engineering.
